BreakingModern – Thanks for checking out episode 23 of Breaking Android. I’m your host, Mat Lee. On this episode I talk about a new Google Wallet and mobile payments, a free song upload increase for Google Play Music and the difference between Google Earth and Google Maps. Check out our Android news show and the detailed show notes below.

Breaking Android Broken Down

  • Android and Me has reported that Google is likely to announce a stronger focus on mobile payments and Google Wallet at the I/O 2015 conference in May. The article says, “Google is reportedly working diligently behind the scenes to get not only phone manufacturers, but banks and other payment networks behind this new initiative.”
  • Droid Life has reported that Google has increased the capacity for user uploaded tracks in its Play Music service to 50,000. That is more than double the previous limit of 20,000, and still applies to all free and paid users of Google Play Music.
  • Android Central has compiled an article on the differences between Google Maps and Google Earth, for those that are confused or use both services. In short, Maps is for routing and real-time directions, while Earth is for exploration. It’s a good read that gives insight on specific features of both applications.
