Photo of the Day: Above the Clouds

BreakingModern — Sunny, blue skies are beautiful. Even skies dotted with a few cumulus clouds and a kiss of sunshine coming through are gorgeous. Shots like these are fun to take from below, if Mother Nature cooperates with you. But what about shooting from above the clouds? Delia Balsells did just that with her HTC One M8. delia balsells airplane m8 eyewitness photo Let’s start with the colors on this one. The photo has great saturation, which makes the sky’s colors pop. The sky is a beautiful blue gradient from the top of the image going from dark to light. These elements come with the aid of the X Pro II filter in Instagram. Finally, check out the implied motion Delia shows in this photograph. The wing of the jet is visible as a silhouette, but the horizon is drastically tilted suggesting the aircraft is turning. It’s funny — I previously discussed implied motion and used a photo from above the clouds as well. Delia, thanks for sharing yet another great photo!
