Smartphone Photo of the Day: Macro Photography by Ashrit Shetty

BreakingModern — Macro photography is the term used for taking really close-up photos. Ashrit Shetty submitted a beautiful macro shot, and its our smartphone photo of the day.

Shetty captured this with his HTC One M7, but he attached a macro lens to the smartphone camera. That is the more professional way of taking a macro photo — the other way is to get incredibly close to the subject and try your best to focus. Shetty also edited the image in Snapseed, and you can really see the contrast. The black and white is a nice touch, especially with the level of detail in the eye and lashes.
