BreakingModern – Photographers are by nature artists and ambitious in their craft. But sometimes their expectations can get the better of them — especially when it comes to taking pictures with a smartphone. Lighting, framing, even obstructions, can easily ruin a great image. Sometimes it’s best to step back and keep things simple. And that’s what Andrew Lone did.
“Roses are red, violets are blue … ” Yeah, yeah. I get it. But what about roses is simple? As in simply beautiful.
I like to think that’s what Lone was looking for when he took this photo. He wanted to capture the rose’s beauty. Using his HTC One M8 and the Google photo editor, he produced this lovely photograph. He didn’t have a lot of light for this shot, but as you can see that didn’t matter. The M8 does a great job with photography in low light. Great shot, Andrew! Macro photography works.
Who else out there has some great photos captured by their HTC smartphone? Send them over to me (in a URL preferably) via [email protected]. You may get featured in our Eyewitness Photo column. Be sure to mention your HTC smartphone model and any camera apps or mobile photo editing apps used.
For BMod, I’m Ant Pruitt.
