CES 2015: HTC Unleashes Desire 826 Smartphone

BreakingModern — HTC just announced the release of the Desire 826 smartphone at CES 2015. The phone will be available in Asia-Pacific regions at the end of January 2015, rolling out into more regions in the following months. Check out the full specs here.

The Desire 826

There are some marked changes to this new smartphone by HTC. Following in the footsteps of the HTC One line, the Desire will have HTC’s BoomSound technology, which is now enhanced by Dolby Audio surround sound. The front facing speakers will use Dolby’s decoding technology for clear, even sound.

The Desire, unsurprisingly, is centered around taking pictures. The UltraPixel technology in HTC phones will be present in both rear-facing and front-facing cameras on the Desire. Split Capture will let you snap a photo with both cameras at once, and a host of other software perks allow the user to edit videos and photos on the fly.

In a departure from the metallic HTC One line, the Desire supports color-filled backs, much like the iPhone 5c. Three colors have been announced so far: White Birch, Blue Lagoon and Purple Fire.

The phone sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit octo-core processor, 4G LTE streaming and Android Lollipop. For a full list of specifications visit the HTC site.
