Breaking Android Episode 21: Android News and Views

BreakingModern – Thanks for checking out episode 21 of Breaking Android. I’m your host, Mat Lee. On this episode I talk about YouTube for kids and the Android 5.1 Lollipop maintenance release. Check out our Android news show and the detailed show notes below.

Breaking Android Broken Down

  • The Official YouTube blog has announced a new YouTube kids app is available on Google Play for Android and Apple iOS, called YouTube Kids. The app was built from the ground up with kids in mind, and makes it safer and easier for them to find videos on YouTube.
  • Android and Me has reported that a Lollipop maintenance update will likely come in March. Hopefully it’s 5.1, but it’s hard to say. There are a number of bugs in the current version of Lollipop, so improvements are greatly anticipated.

That’s going to do it for this episode of Breaking Android. Follow me on your favorite social network and say hello. Also make sure to check out our weekly Android long-form podcast over at AttackoftheAndroids.com.
