BreakingModern — Taking pictures during the holidays and preserving these special moments is a top priority for everyone. With smartphones and tablets replacing traditional cameras this year, many amateur photographers will look to photo apps to make their pictures shine. Unless you’re a professional photographer, these four apps will ensure your memories are captured in the best way possible.
Snapseed
Snapseed is a full-featured free photo editing program that’s available for both Android on Google Play and Apple iOS. Its great interface is optimized for a touchscreen so it is easy to use on your mobile device. With Snapseed you can do everything, from adjusting brightness and contrast to applying unique filters. Adobe Photoshop Express
Adobe Photoshop Express is a basic photo editing app that is available on both Google Play and iOS at no cost. It has auto-fix and one-touch filters which are great for quick edits. It also includes all the basics like red-eye correction, cropping and individual adjustments. Some advanced features are available as in-app purchases, but the basic app will be enough for simple corrections. Be sure that you download this app a few days before the big party, so you will be able to do some quick editing of photos and share them with your family and friends.
Christmas Photo Frames
Once you take and edit your holiday photos, you may want to spice them up a bit. This app will come in handy. It’s free for Android on Google Play. Christmas Photo Frames lets you chose from a variety of holiday themes including Christmas trees and candy canes. You simply select or take a photo and choose a frame. The picture can easily be adjusted to fit the frame. The frame choices are excellent, with vivid colors, but you have to choose the frames from a very small display picture, so the selection process may take some time to get used to. Otherwise, this app is easy to use and fun.
Snapfish
If you want to print your photos, Snapfish is a good place to go. The photo sharing site offers a free app on both Google Play and iOS and is currently offering 100 free 4″x6” prints each month for one year. You can pick up your prints at a Walgreens or Walmart in the U.S. within an hour and can order a variety of sizes, as well as have your photos put on mugs, ornaments and other unique paraphernalia.
